Report - Gillingham 1 Bury 1
Saturday's clash between Gillingham and Bury at the Priestfield Stadium ended with a share of the spoils in a one all draw.
With 17 games played in the season of 2017/18 both Gillingham and Bury are struggling, sitting in 22nd and 24th place in the League One table respectively and in that regard the point shared did little for either.
The visitors were in front through Neil Danns as he scored his first goal of the season from 15 yards out in minute 39 of the first half, but the hosts did find a leveller of their own as Josh Parker's 85th minute header.
Gillingham will feel that was the least they deserved from the game as although Bury had the greater possession, they only had two efforts on target compared to eight on target from the home side.
That's not to say Bury didn't have chances to wrap up the points, in first half stoppage time Michael Smith hit a volley wide of the mark and 13 minutes from time Andrew Tutte saw his long effort rebound off the woodwork with keeper Tomas Holy beaten.
Bury goalkeeper Leo Fason was called into action himself though on a number of occasions, earning credit particularly for keeping out Tom Eaves' header just after the hour mark.
Gillingham will be pleased to have made it two unbeaten, whilst Bury will take the positive of bringing their losing streak to an end.
