Leigh In Team Of Midweek (17/3/17)

Leigh In Team Of Midweek (17/3/17)

Bury are represented in the latest Football League team of midweek that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Greg Leigh in the three nil victory over Bristol Rovers in midweek at Gigg Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Leigh was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Leigh grabbed his first Bury goal in the 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers, helping to earn three vital points in the bid for Sky Bet League One survival. Along with a goal and a clean sheet, the full-back won the penalty which got the Shakers up and running.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Leigh for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Dean Lyness (Blackpool), Greg Leigh (Bury), Cian Bolger (Fleetwood Town), Scott Harrison (Hartlepool United), Sean McConville (Accrington Stanley), Danny Rose (Portsmouth), James Coppinger (Doncaster Rovers), Filipe Morais (Bolton Wanderers), Lee Erwin (Oldham Athletic), Reuben Reid (Exeter City), Craig Mackail-Smith (Peterborough United).

Manager - Paul Lambert (Wolverhampton Wanderers).
