It's Bolton In The Capital One Cup

The draw for the first round of the Capital One Cup 2014-15 took place earlier today, and Bury have been paired with Bolton Wanderers.

The game will take place in the week commencing August 11th, and will take place at their Macron Stadium.

Given this is a Championship v League Two derby fixture, there is the potential we will be selected as one of the two games to be scheduled for screening by Sky Sports, and should that happen, not only will it add to the atmosphere for the fans and the excitement for the players, but it would also be a well timed financial boost for the club as we push for promotion this season.

If the game isn't selected for the TV, then it's likely to take place on Tuesday August 12th.

This will be the first competitive fixture between both sides in 12 years, so should be a special occasion.

To open our cup competition this season, the club are also offering entry to junior's for just 1 following a joint League and Sponsor initiative.

Two first round ties will be selected for TV viewing by Sky Sports and those games will take place on Monday August 11th and Wednesday August 13th, and both will kick off at 7.45pm.

Concrete date, kick off and ticket information will all follow in due course, as will details of the Junior initiative and information on how to redeem that price.

Jaidev Janardana, chief marketing officer at the sponsor's of the competition said of the Junior initiative.

'We wanted to make round one as family friendly as possible and we hope our great offer will encourage parents across the UK to treat the whole family to a host of great games, and, no doubt, goals galore.'
