Manager David Flitcroft has said that he feels the improvements we are making to the playing surface at Gigg Lane has created a little bit of buzz around the club because it's a great testament to the kind of style we want to play with next season.
Speaking to the Bury Times Flitcroft said it was just another step in the Bury Revolution that has been taking place since big changes last season, and although the work is far from complete yet, he says it's already surpassed his expectations given we have spent more than £150,000 on improvements including upgrades to our drainage and sprinkler systems.
'The club have been posting these pictures up online of the work going on and I think that is great because they show this as a live project. They prove the chairman and the directors here and not just men of words, they are men of action.'
The gaffer goes on to say that fans who pass the stadium can see that the work is going on, and if they are making regular trips they can see the progress that is being made on a regular basis, and that does create a sense of excitement and hope for the coming season, where our aim is already stated as trying to win promotion back to League 1.
'The website spreads that sense of excitement even further. It's not just the supporters - I know of at least two players we have been talking to who have gone on the website to look at the photographs.'
Adding that it doesn't matter what he says face to face when he discusses our vision, our plan for the future and so on, those pictures provide solid proof of improvement, and the fact the club are laying the foundations required to kick on further, and he feels that players have been impressed by that.
'What's going on here is above and beyond what I thought was possible. We are really pulling out all the stops to ensure we have the best playing surface in League Two.'
Obviously for the gaffer, with how the pitch cut up last term and compromises needing to be made in our playing style, he'll be delighted that this doesn't need to be the case in 2014-15.
