Flitcroft - We Need To Be Ruthless

Manager David Flitcroft has called on the Bury team to show a ruthless edge following the draw against Rochdale.

It's Fleetwood Town up next for us tonight, and we really need to get back to winning ways with where we sit in the league table at the moment, and Flitcroft has already talked of his disappointment at not snatching the winner against Rochdale, and he's hoping we can put that right tonight.

Speaking to the Bury Times ahead of the game the gaffer wants us to build on our unbeaten run at the JD Stadium, which now stands at seven games since Flitcroft took charge, but add another all important victory to our totals.

'It's that edge, that ruthless edge you need to be a winner. They have got to take the opportunities when they present themselves and we haven't done that. That's the next part of the challenge, that's where we have to go.'

Consistency in front of goal has blighted us this campaign, and it's something that the gaffer has been working hard on since he came to the club and it has to click sooner or later with the players we have really.

Fleetwood will be no easy test as they finally got themselves back to winning ways last weekend after five attempts but Flitcroft believes they could still be there for the taking as although they've had some fantastic victories so far this campaign, when they lose they also tend to lose well, so with home advantage on our side he feels it's all the play for.

Ahead of the game, it's already been confirmed that Craig Jones will be missing and he's likely to be out for a fortnight after suffering a hamstring injury, and on loan Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro is also a doubt with a calf strain.

However we can welcome back Andrew Tutte who missed the last match as per the conditions of his transfer to us from Rochdale, and Danny Mayor is expected to be available despite his half time substitution which the gaffer explained was owing to the fact he was drained following a family funeral.
