Welcome To The JD Stadium

Welcome To The JD Stadium

Bury have today announced that Gigg Lane will now be known as the JD Stadium.

An agreement with JD Sports Fashion Ltd marked the largest commercial deal ever signed by the club during their history, and it will run for three years.

As part of this deal the stadium names changes with immediate effect.

JF will also become the main shirt sponsor from next season.

JD Sports was founded in Bury back in 1981 and has grown nationwide and internationally since, but is still based in Pilsworth.

Their CEO Barry Brown said of the deal.

'We are delighted to be associated with Bury Football Club and look forward to assisting the club going forward.'

Chairman Stewart Day said of the deal himself.

'This is an amazing deal for Bury and highlights the hard work being put in behind the scenes to secure the future of this great club. Our commercial team have worked tirelessly on this for the past few months and it's a credit to them that it has now been signed.'

Fans may well be torn on this as nobody likes seeing the heritage of a club sold for profit, but needs must and the deal must be right and will help us off the pitch and at the end of the day it's always going to be Gigg Lane to the fans anyway.
