'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jepson Appointed Until January

The other day the Board of Bury released a statement confirming that Ronnie Jepson will continue in the position of manager until at least January.

The Board statement talked about the fact that what was needed at the moment was some stability in and around the club to help aide the players during their working week and of course on match days in an effort to help see us to more positive results.

Having seen how the players have responded to Jepson since he took over as caretaker manager following the departure of Kevin Blackwell, it has been decided to appoint Ronnie as the caretaker manager of the club until the New Year, and that temporary appointment will also include members of the backroom staff.

The Board believe that this decision is in the best interests of the club as they are pleased to see the players react how they have done so far during his tenure, and it also allows more time to assess the situation without making any immediate decisions that in hindsight might prove to be knee jerk.

That situation the board admits has also been made worse by 'bizarre' press and social media speculation concerning any new appointment, and they believe it has been unsettling for Ronnie and the players, so this move should also help settle things down so everybody can focus on results.

'The past two games has demonstrated to us that the players have the desire to play for Ronnie and the fans and get out of the lowly league position. We do support Ronnie 100% and feel that the backroom team and the players echo his obvious drive and passion to succeed at this Club.'

The statement continues to say that they will continually monitor the situation and will work closely with Jepson to make sure that Bury deliver on the pitch, and they ask fans to back the caretaker as much as they can during this period, which they appreciate is a difficult time.
