Blackwell - We Have To Repay The Fans
Manager Kevin Blackwell has said he feels it's now time the players repaid the fans for their support this season and started getting the wins we desperately want.
Having played seven games so far this season in the league, winning two of them, but having lost four, Kevin Blackwell is now looking for the players to start grabbing the victories that he wants to see.
Five of our last six matches have been away from home and the fans have travelled in good numbers over quite a large difference without travelling back home with much to shout about in terms of victories, but it's now back to Gigg Lane this weekend as we host Southend and Blackwell is adamant that the players should give the fans something to cheer.
Speaking to the Bury Times Blackwell pointed out the number of fans that had travelled away to see the team this season and he was full of praise for their efforts, but said it was now time we got the results that they deserved.
'I have to say the supporters can't give us anything more. It's time we started to repay them for their support.'
We don't go into the game in the best of form really, and that's something that we need to address and quickly so we can pull ourselves up the league - especially as Blackwell knows the fans have stuck with the team regardless of results, as he feels they appreciate the way we are trying to play and are willing to give the team time to find their best form.
The manager also confirmed that Rob Lainton has fractured his shoulder and he will be set for a spell on the sidelines for at least another five weeks.
