Full Time Fitness Coach Appointed

Full Time Fitness Coach Appointed

Kevin Blackwell has appointed former Everton employee David Tivey as our full time Fitness and Conditioning Coach.

He comes with a recommendation from Phil Neville.

Speaking to the Official Site David said of his appointment.

'The job is to keep the lads fit, to keep them on the pitch and to keep them well conditioned for football throughout the season.'

Part of Tivey's job will also be to limit the number of potential injuries that players can sustain during the course of a season and he admits himself a large part of the job is prevention rather than cure and that will be achieved by working up individual training plans for the players so those that can be pushed will be, and those that need a bit of a break receive it when it comes to training workload.

By the same token nutrition, how players live outside the club and what they eat also forms a big part of his job so that players are in the best peak condition they can be during the season.
